The Battleship North Carolina Memorial in Wilmington was the site of paranormal activity recently!
The SyFy Channel series “Ghost Hunters Academy” devoted an entire episode to investigations aboard the former USS North Carolina.
Another series, “Ghost Hunters,” taped an episode aboard the battleship that aired in 2005.
Ten sailors died in action aboard the North Carolina during World War II. For decades, visitors have reported strange phenomena aboard the vessel, including hatches opening and closing and strange noises. Many of the tales were collected by longtime caretaker Danny Bradshaw in his book, “Ghosts of the Battleship North Carolina,” which is available at the memorial’s gift shop.
