Area Hotel Featured in Superbowl Ad!
When Simple Syrup (a TV production company) was looking for a “Tropical Resort” as the backdrop for a commercial that they were producing for The Charlotte Metro Credit Union they discovered The Winds Beach Resort on Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The commercial is supposed to take place in Jamaica but they were looking for somewhere a little closer that could double as the Caribbean island.
When the producer found The Winds Resort’s website TheWinds.com they noticed the tag line was “A Tropical Escape closer than you think!” and decided to look at The Winds as a possible location. They sent their producer down and she decided that The Winds Resort had the part!
The crew came and filmed with Creative Director Jerry Casale (founder and frontman for the 80’s pop group DEVO–remember “Whip it! – Crack That Whip!”?). Mr. Casale was a founding member of DEVO and directed their memorable videos.
Simple Syrup has created national advertising campaigns for such international brands as: Lexus, Coca Cola, Nike, Adidas, Cialis, Gatorade, General Foods, Target, Macy’s and many more. Even more exciting, the advertisement they were filming at The Winds Resort would air during the 2014 Super Bowl!
Without giving away too much the commercial follows a Honeymooning couple in Jamaica and The Winds Resort Beach Club was pleased that Simple Syrup owner and President, John Reid (a Jamaican himself) felt that The Winds was close enough to double as the famous Caribbean island. He referred to The Winds as “Little Jamaica”!
The commercial itself is making a few headlines long before the big game appearing in this weeks Star News! Click below to read the online story:
