Every year, for the holidays, the Battleship North Carolina is festooned in lights strung from the bow up to the masts and down to the stern. This is all a part of historic downtown Wilmingtons annual holiday light celebration. You can enjoy the show every night from dusk to 11 PM, December 5, 2008 through January 6, 2009. The Battleship can be seen for free from downtown Wilmington.
During the day, 8am-5pm, come see what Christmas 1943 was like aboard the Battleship North Carolina. Living history interpreters bring the Ship to life by enacting daily duties and drills. In the snack bar from 12noon-4pm, visitors can make holiday cards for veterans at the VA hospital in Fayetteville. There is an admission charge. Battleship North Carolina is located on Eagles Island, 910-251-5797
