The Port City Music Festival is a festival of great music and world class performing artists. All concerts are free admission.
Founded in 2009 by cellist and conductor Stephen Framil and Wilmington artist Christine Farley, the 7th Annual Port City Music Festival 2015 is a summer concert series committed to the highest quality of performance, and making the experience of great music accessible to all.
From symphonies to chamber music to opera to choral, The Port City Music Festival not only brings a fresh and distinct interpretation to the venerated classics, but also seeks to bridge the styles of classical, jazz, folk and world music – each program an eclectic and richly diverse musical offering. Committed to music appreciation for all ages, it is the mission of making the experience of great music accessible to all.
The Port City Music Festival is under the direction of cellist and conductor Dr. Stephen Framil, and the festival’s ensemble-in-residence Camerata Philadelphia features violinists Simon Maurer and Danijela Zezelj-Gualdi, clarinetist John C. Laughton, mezzo-soprano Kyle Engler, and pianist Daniel Lau. This year’s programs feature many French and Spanish works, and concludes with a chamber orchestra concert on June 14.
