The most delicious week of Spring is April 28-May 5 because Encore Magazine has organized the second Wilmington Restaurant Week.
The first, held last October, was such a success that both eateries and customers couldn’t wait for the next, said Shea Carver, editor-in-chief of Encore.
“We started this not only because we felt it would help our readers score a deal, but because we feel it’s very important to support local restaurants,” she said. “Almost every participant re-signed for a spring event.
“Our readers are loyal spenders, that’s for sure,” said Ms. Carver. “They love deals, and they love food. I, personally, patronized many restaurants last year during Wilmington Restaurant Week, and they were all bustling in business on what I found out would normally be down days and nights.”
The concept is simple: First you peruse the list of participating restaurants, look over the menus. Then, narrow down your choices for the week’s lunches and/or dinners. You then print out your restaurant week pass (the passes are primted in Encore Magazine also). The passes are required to take advantage of the offer and are good only during Restaurant Week.
Finally you grab your friends and fellow foodies, hire a babysitter, feed the dog and start dreaming about the delectable week of meals you will soon be enjoyingReservations are a good idea because participating restaurants often fill quickly that week.![]()
